Here I describe the method that I performed when I tried to officially unlock my device via iTunes after using SAM. In my previous post I showed you the best way to unlock iPhone using SAM on iOS 6. After this article many iPhone users factory unlocked their devices. But there was one problem after restore with iPhone activation after factory unlock. iTunes didn’t detect iPhone.
The problem is in SAM unlocking tool and IMEI / IMSI number. When you hack your iPhone 4, 4S, 3GS and 3G using SAM you change your IMSI number and that cheat Apple and you can use other carrier/SIM card on your device. After Apple closed this exploits it was not possible use it except you have activation tickets.
But when the best way to unlock iPhone iOS 6.0.1 using official method appeared many users faced the problem with iPhone activation after using SAM unlock because iTunes couldn’t detect the device as to changed IMSI and your iPhone stuck in this condition. But I know how to fix this bug. All you need is to follow my guide and unlock activated iPhone permanently like I did.

How to Factory Unlock Activated iPhone 4 After SAM in iTunes

Step 1. Download latest iOS 6 firmware.
Step 2. Connect your device to the computer and open iTunes
Step 3. Perform a back up if you don’t want to lose the data which is on your iPhone.
Step 4. Now, holding Shift on Windows or Option/Alt on Mac, click Restore and select downloaded in Step 1 firmware.
Step 5. After iPhone rebooting you need to activate your device after SAM so, insert original SIM card (Sim card to which your iPhone is locked to) and activate iPhone. If you don’t have this card you can try to do without it but it didn’t work for me.
Step 6. After iPhone activation connect the device to iTunes and disconnect it after 10 seconds.
Step 7. Wait till you receive the message that your iPhone is factory and permanently unlocked.
It is all you need to do. It worked for me and it will work for you. So if you still use SAM tool go here and factory unlock iPhone (activated) and use any SIM card and always update your device to the latest iOS firmware stayed to be unlocked.

  1. Thanks for the post.I would like to share my experience in unlocking my iPhone 4.I wanted to unlock it from the respective locked network permanently. I searched and found that
Theunlockspot.com provides such a permanent unlocking service for iPhone models. They unlock the iPhone through the remote unlock service which would be a better option because,we need not give the mobile to someone else nor do we have any chance to enter the wrong unlock codes. This type of unlocking was very apt for me.I unlocked my mobile and now free to switch networks.
