Upgrade your iOS 8 supported iPhone devices to the latest version, iOS 8.1
Apple recently released iOS 8.1 and it comes with a lot of improvements over iOS 8.0.2. Fixing most of the issues faced by iPhone 6 users, Here are the steps to perform the Upgrade:
  • The first step is to make sure that you have the updated version of iTunes
  • After that is done, open the iTunes application on your system.
  • Press on the Help button.
  • Then select the Check for Update button.
  • A pop-up window will be shown in which it will ask the user whether it is an updated version
  • A Backups window opens, from which you should click on the Back up Now button so that all your data from your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus is backed up in a safe place
  • Now download iOS 8.1 IPSW
  • Plug-in your iPhone device, 6 or 6 Plus to the laptop or computer system. Open the iTunes application.
  • Now click on the Device Summary page in order to access it
  • Hold down the Option (in case of Mac) or SHIFT (in case of a Windows system) and simultaneously select the Check for Update option in iTunes
  • Now search for the IPSW that you had previously installed and open it
  • A pop-up screen will be in front of you from which you need to select the Update button
  • Select the NEXT button, after which you should select AGREE button
  • Finally your iTunes application will begin to downgrade the device to iOS 8
  • This process may take some minutes to complete, according to your internet connection’s speed
  • Be patient and wait for the Slide to Unlock slider pops up on the screen. You need to perform the set of instructions that follow after all these steps
The reason we are not asking you to install iOS 8.1 over OTA is that, OTA installs will always create problems in jailbreaking. If you have plans to jailbreak iOS 8 later, go with this option.
